New to this game can anyone help me with two questions?

My car is a 99MY UK Turbo.

I am told by the dealer it has had a pre sale service...however.

It never starts on the first turn of the key...is this typical? I used to have an MR2 and it started straight off. Is it a boxer engine trait?

On warm up the car bucks almost imperceivably and seems to pull and then falter a bit....almost makes you feel like the handbrake is being lightly pulled on.

Once warm all is fine.

Thanks

Mark

There are a number of things this could be. Battery on the way out, MAF sensor, O2 sensor, crank or cam angle sensor on the blink, plug leads or coil pack, fuel pump and or filter.

I think from what you have explained it could be either the MAF or Fuel pump or maybe clogged fuel filter.

It should start first time and not behave like that so take it back.

Make sure you wait for the fuel pump to prime the fuel lines before you turn the key. A couple of second is usually enough if you cannot hear the fuel pump working away.

Add coolant temperature sensor to the list of things to check.
