Do genuine STI strut braces require the cutting of the rubber seal around the intercooler??.Also should the brace cross over the intercooler?.

They normally go behind or just above the rear of the intercooler

Thumbs up

Designed to angle around the intercooler so no cutting needed. Very easy to fit with only a couple of 12mm spanners/sockets.

I think I know which one you mean.

It's not the carbon fibre one it's that pink ended one that goes straight over the top of the intercooler and robs about 10% of it's area isn't it?

Yes you do need to cut the rubber and it's an awful idea.

Want my advice? Sell it and get a decent strutbrace that doesn't diminish the cooling effect of the intercooler.

Cheers
