Can someone please recommend some ways to help me to reduce Turbo lag. I don't want to go to the extreme of anti lag, but something that will help speed up the spool of the turbo.

Cheers

Won't necassarily combat Turbo lag, but to pick up a much faster spool up, a downpipe is sound - in more ways than one

What year is your car ?
The older Scoobys (pre 98) had larger turbos which produce more lag where the newer (post 98) had smaller turbos so less lag.
I dont supose they are easy to swap round but its the same old problem..the bigger the turbo the more power but more lag.
As mentioned before a Decat down pipe will help the turbo spool quicker, also you could try a Dawes device.
Is the lag realy that bad on your car ? Another thing you could do is have the ECU remaped to raise the torque but bring it in sooner like a PPP does.

Downpipe. Nothing compares to it for lag reduction

Andy i always thought that the older turbos (TD05s) were designed to spool up quicker than the later ones?

Or is that just me hearing bits of information in different places. Isnt that why people seem to go for the TD05s and convert them into a front entry as the turbos were better??

Assuming you have a UK300, downpipe and up-pipe will both make a significant difference. Ecutek remap or dawes device will tend to help a little. Also, replacing the inlet pipe with something like an MRT or BPM one is supposed to help, although I haven't experience in that area (yet). Some other things like lower pressure drop TMIC (such as APS, MRT etc) and better intercooler piping (as fitted with the PPP) might not speed spool up but may well give better off-boost performance, which is almost as good.

TD05 is bigger than TD04, hence more lag. If you want to know why more people are going for it - look at the sort of power the likes of JB and AndyF are getting from it. And the way theirs is set up it's not that much more lag, and very healthy torque at lowish revs.
