I thought you were selling your p1?

Southend this sat if your up for it.

Its not hard fixing the stuff but a remap is a pain in the ****. Wible just got his scoob remapped and Power engineering charged him a stupid amount and he wasnt happy

Saying that, i dont know anyone else in middx to remap it. BR Developements only do it if you buy their ecu - ecutek?

I think he posted it on here so i will say anyway.

Basically he was told a remap would be about £300 - £400. It basically came back with a bill just over £700 i think. He had some little parts to change (about £50 worth) but they stung him and he wasnt happy.

Then it was still overboosting so he had to organise another trip down there for them to do it. This time they did it free.

He wasnt to chuffed

Saying that though - i dont know where else you could get a remap unless you do BR Developments (only in ham mate)

ON a P1:
* Go for Ecutek @ £650 plus VAT
* Takes upto 2 hours - usually less
* Mapper will check everything is running well
* Go home and enjoy
* It won't need remapping
* .....Even if you reset the ECU

? A full decat or partial

* The P1 has standard injectors/turbo capable of running 330 bhp, the P1 is c 280 bhp.......of course its worth remapping

*though more substantial gains can be seen with a full system

*and I believ on the standard map the P1 does have noticeable flat spots which could be smotthed out with Ecutek

It depends where you go PE call it a Tek 2
Scoobysport I believe call it a Tek 2
Xtreme call it a remap

Same product though different names.....

Ok now im really confused!!!!
I went to Power Engineerng this morning and spoke to one of the tuners who said "yes you deffo need to re map it to have the mods your after fitted to a P1"
I then spoke to another bloke that works there who said "no you can just change the exhaust and induction, you dont need to change the ecu at all" he thn added "weve done loads of Scoobs like this???"
Sounds to me like the left foot doesnt know what the right foots doing????
So i then decided to give Scoobysport a call, they also said "no remap needed" If no remap is needed why are so many folks on SCoobynet saying it is needed??
Please help

lol mate!

Basically it all comes down to money! People are in the business to make money and they will do it anyway they can.

Im running a full decat and induction kit on mine and i havent had a remap (not yet cause more goodies are on the way).

Remap can be very beneficial. Wible for instance (as said above), he was running 297bhp with a full decat, K&N induction and p1 intercooler on his 95 wrx. I think that was with about 255lbs of torque. he decided to get a remap cause it was overboosting a little bit, it now has 312bhp and 278lbs of torque (i believe).

So it can be very useful as you can see, he is running just that little bit more power and he said you can notice it lol

I wouldnt say you would definitely need it! Maybe just beneficial if you want those extra bhps and lbs

"BR Developements only do it if you buy their ecu "

If you have a Link, Motec etc then that means a replacement ecu, if we do a remap using the EcuTek software then, of course, it does not.

Ferrarinutter and Extremescoobies, since you are one and the same your posts could mislead.

Hi all.

I had my P1 down at PE last week. It had a full decat and thought I lost power doing this. But they had the car on the rollers and it was pushing out 305 bhp/270 lbft. Looking at the stats on the laptop, there was plenty of fuel and the timing was spot on. Still think I lost power though, cus the car feels slower......don't make sense

Regards

Kev

can't spell

Kev

It can sometimes feel like that as the power delivery with a full system is much more linear. Instead of wait, wait a bit more, whoosh, the full system will have boost building much sooner and so there is less of a kick.

As you have found out, you don't need a remap to get over 300bhp from a P1. Of course lots more is available if you do have one
