Question

is there anything else that can cause a scoob to hunt around Idle after a burst of acceleration?

It can be lots of things: of course if you had a knocklink, lambda link, boost gauge and ran optimax with octane booster than you'd know

O2 (lambda) sensor.

Gauges wouldn't really tell you anything at idle, though an AFR might tell you your lambda is broken.

Hiya Saxo,

a) Who's worried and
b) Who said it was my car?
c) If it was my car, duya think i'd be posting for advice on here?

If you must know, I went out with a guy who has just bought a scoob, met him in a pub car park, went for a spin and I noticed it from the passenger seat!
I didn't want to worry the guy (TM "Scoobynet") into thinking he was driving a timebomb and that he needed a gazzillion guages, so I wondered if there was something I could show him how to check without mentioning MAF's etc.

Happy now

Mikey

Yup Just poking fun Joking appart, anything to do with a MAF that isn't 100% would scare the cr@p out of me and I'd get it seen to straight away. That really is something that can blow up an engine

Cheers dude, I'll try and let him know in a non dramatic fashion

i.e no "**** mate, best you get that lifted to the garage, I wouldn't even risk turning the radio on let alone turning the engine, what with your MAF being knackered"
