Question

I'm in the process of fitting an STI5 intercooler to my UK 97.

The hole for the dump valve is in the wrong place, apparently Hayward and Scott make an adaptor. Anyone got one or know anything about it?

Where does it mount and what size pipe does it have coming off it ie. do I need to change my d/v? How does it get around lack of space along the front of the i/c?

Thumbs up

I think Iain at H&S would agree that I was the originator for this adapter, although H&S had the expertise to fabricate it together.
It is quite simply a stainless pipe with a flange.
It should match up to an existing 97MY Dumpvalve no probs, but you will have to source a 99MY Dumpvalve gasket to avoid any leakage.

Don't know how much they charge, but the only other place you can get these from is MRT in Australia!

Speak to Iain at H&S, top bloke, good service, **** tasting tea

Jacko.

I have one on my '98 UK car. It cost about £85 inc VAT and postage. I've had it about 3 weeks. I had the gasket, but also had to drill out and remove a bit of the front of the intercooler, and reshape the gasket hole, because it doesn't match the hole for the OE d/v exactly.
I can mail you a photo tomorrow if it helps?
Alcazar

Edited to say: the pipe it's made of matches the OE '97 d/v, but I have a Forge recirc one anyway. The H&S fitting is in stainless steel.
A photo will answer your question about how it gets around the space prob.
BTW: BRD CAN remap your car, with a LINK ECU! Mine is being done on July 5th!!:

Thanks fellaz,

I've seen and tried the MRT one, but because the outlet is mounted in the centre of the diamond shaped flange it's too close to the top of the manifold (throttle sensor ??? - grey plastic marked ABC).

Alcazar, please do mail me pics. Let me know if they bounce and I'll send you my work address instead.

And as for a Link I rather like the idea of my car being able to shut itself down should something go wrong - plus the price

Alcazar, thanks for your mail. Now that I understand what I'm letting myself in for I've ordered one from H&S - £60 plus vat and del. but it'll do the job a treat.
