My car (MY96) doesn't seem to idle well now. It's not hunting - just feels "a bit rough" The RPM only changes by +/-25, so it's not like it's uneven...

It also doesn't seem as smooth at 5000+ RPM either. (Very subjective, as the roads round here aren't the best)

And the fuel consumption is a fraction more than normal.

I can't see anything that stands out on the select monitor diagnostics, so in theory all should be well...

I am concerned, however, that this is the first signs of coil pack failure. Are these available (new) from anyone but Subaru?

The rad fans are also on more now - it's been hot, I know, but every time I stop??? Again, no sign of a problem on the monitor.

I suppose I just start to replace things...

Obviously I'm a car hypochondriac. I'll stop over reacting now, and just change the oil to make sure it's all OK

David,
Every few weeks I decide the cars not going as good as it once was... I've found the best remedy is to get in the passenger seat and get a mate to take you for a hoon around the block... I can't believe how used to the power you get... no wonder we're all on this eternal quest for more!
Alex.
