Starting Problems
#1
My nice new MY95 has shown a strange tendency in starting - or rather not starting.
At random intervals if I go back to the car while it is still warm it will refuse to start. Other times it starts fine
Cure is to open bonnet and leave for a period - say 20 mins- retry and hey presto it starts.
The CEL seems to flicker when its not starting so any ideas ?

Everyone else - the cam and crank shaft sensors are cleaned and the plugs changed. So this afternoon in Tesco car park it did the trick - no start.
Opened bonnet for 5-10 minutes, looked at engine, disconnected and reconnected sensors and it started. So come on anyone got an answer. I'm taking the car to Italy in less than three weeks. It makes the missus nervous and would be really embarassing in Modena ! So HELP

Just thought I'd tell the end of this saga in case it helps anyone else.
Problem continued so it went into an independent diagnostic workshop. They got the problem to repeat - not too difficult- and then ran the diagnostic tests. Turns out the burn time was too short and the lambda sensor was indicating a misfire. Suspected cause is faulty coils or insulators.
Work to follow.

Mine did it again this weekend and left me stranded in London.
Garage don't need to recreate the fault as it is still doing it 16 hours later, which is good in a way (should be easier to diagnose).
The above being looked at this week then cambelt tensioner being replaced next week bye bye savings
