Question

As we all know the newer Imprezas >01 have an O2 sensor on centre section (OBD) and the famous - due to breaking under some circumstances - EGT sensor in the up pipe.
When someone changes the downpipe he needs one CEL fix for the rear O2 sensor and usualy the EGT CEL fix.
Although I have been told that STIS don't need the CEL fixes, or at least the front one for the EGT sensor.
As the new 03 WRX has same catless up pipe with the STI does this means that it doesn't need the front CEL fix, thus I could change only downpipe and back bock with no need for any fix device?
Thanks
JIM

Hi Jim

The 03 still has OBDII cat checking but the trigger levels are different to allow for the missing up pipe cat.

You will still need a fix if you are fitting a decat downpipe.
