as above when i put my foot down i get a very bad judder as if the turbo is hesitating to perform......its over 2500 revs i get the judder ive checked the dv but no sign of leakage

car is my98 uk spec turbo
mods: blitz full decat
blitz air filter steel mesh type
blitz bov
run on optimax...most of the time

any advise please dont know what it could be

suspected faults
spark plugs?
leads?
maf? hopenot
turbo big???

Similar problem to what Pyrocam had on his scoob a few months ago.

From 3000-5000k, it was very juddery (sp) almost like the turbo was struggling to produce any boost.

His turned out to be a Maf sensor.

Not saying thats whats wrong with yours, but sounds the same as what his was like.

Cant remember how much it cost for his MAF.

£70 odds rings a bell, his was MY99 though.

Look in the SIDC.co.uk faq for MY98 cars and hesitation ... seemed to be a common problem, forgot what caused it.

I had exactly this problem on MY99 and it was the MAF.

Should be £70ish from your dealer - apparently some sell it and some don't so if they try to sell you the whole "kit-and-kaboodle" go to another dealer.

Most likely to be the MAF. The Blitz 'filter' isn't known for its filtering abilities & dust has quite possibly eaten away at the MAF (& turbo, valves, etc. etc.) so it would read, well, interestingly.
