Hi Guy's
relatively new here. Does anyone know how to convert my STi Type R speedo to mph? Is there a good place to get conversion dial and can you get an STi dial in mph. What's the best thing to do??
I will also need a speedo convertor and delimiter? what's the favourite choice?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Cheers, Nobby

Nobby,
If you get a delimiter and a speedo convertor then you won't need to change dial. All you need is a little sticker saying "mph" to put over the km/h in the middle of the dial.
Your speedo will then read up to 180 MPH.
The only sources I have come across for the kit are Grahame Goode Racing, Roger Clark Motorsport and some company I forget in the back of EVO magazine.
If you bought it from a garage, didn't they want to change it?

Hi Butty
thanks for the info. It's a personal import from Japan so no garage to help! Sounds like a good idea tho... I can keep the std dials just hide the KM/H bit.
Thanks.

Having looked at the picture of my dash again... It doesn't have MPH on it at all... Just a KM/H display. Dunno but may be unique to the STI Type R? It appears to have a digital odometer and without checking, I would have sworn it was mechanical!
So, surely, this conversion doesn't leave me with a 320MPH speedo? cos that'll look a bit too optimistic!!
Any thoughts??

If its got a 320 KMH speedo then it can't be limited?
Without making you lose your license, can you get it to go over 180 kmh on a "private road"?
If so then it sounds like there is not limiter to Jap speed limit of 180kmh (112 MPH).
All you should need is a stick on dial with a maximum of 200 MPH/320 KMH dual scale.
I'm a bit puzzled what market your car was originally for?

Hi, as said, if you can fit the converter either onto the gearbox
itself or inbetween the cable it converts kmh to mph for you.
No swapping dials.
Speedo reads & records in MPH.
I think the limiter is set for 180 on the speedo scale. As you convert it, the limiter is still set for 180 on the scale.
I doubt if you will reach 180 mph.
Just "Black" out the K, in Km/h to leave m/h.
These guys do them, they also supply a mph stcker with the converter.(don't use it)
