Oil coming through dump valve?????
#1
I have oil residue coming from the dumpvalve which is fitted BEFORE the Intercooler. My thoughts are maybe a seal on the turbo is leaking or there is a vacum being created thats sucking crap from a breather into turbo from Engine.
Any help pls.
Thanks.

yeah residue can be common, Dave RA bit of a harsh thing to say, i supsect you had serious probs if your turbo and your crank gave up.
Most turbo bearing failure i have seen has not pumped oil into the compressor side of the turbo, it has come out of the exhaust housing side. (not sure why )
Check your air filter, if it is dirty or partially blocked your inlet can extract more vapour from the breathers.

How new is this Dump Valve ? If it's fairly new I'd ignore it. It could just be the grease and oil used in the assembly process. My VTA dump valve blasted out red oil everywhere when it was brand new.
If you've had it a while as mentioned above a small amount of residue can be perfectly normal. I thought it was something to do with the crank case breather system ?
Nathan..
