a month ago my mechanic, before he quit, did a service on my then newer mcrae mobile.it had done 98000miles. unfortunatly, me seals (with fish an' all) have worn away on me oil thingy and is therefore spilling a little liquid which brings out a lovely smell of burning oil. (thanks to Chris for poining that one out!) also i need a crank sensor cos me old ones a bit naff and occasionally takes an hour to get the car started. it turns over but doesn't fire! now i've been told that i need a 90,000 mile service @ 650 bucks, which will include the seals i need to stop the leaks and another 90 or so bucks for the crank sensor. I've asked your opinion a few times and respect what you have to say as you obviously know your cars. i only know that i love driving mine! (but i do know a lot about movies!! but that doesnt help at this moment!) does this price sound reasonable? the place that quoted me was sparshatts, and they seemed helpful enough and all that, but are they any good??? if you've used them do you recommend them? thanks for the help...if you offer any that is!

I've been getting quite a lot of work done on my WRX locally at Triton Motor Services, just had a full service and cam belt change along with speedo conversion and was quite chuffed with the price! The lads there seem to be a good bunch also and they certainly know their stuff! Might be worth a go!

have you got any service history thou as if i recall by the age alone of the mcrae it should of already had 90k service as even if doing no miles then 90k service will be due 6 years down the line from new surely
not a bad price for a 90k service thou

Theoretically its going to need the 120k service which is quite expensive anyway (cambelt service is the 45k/3 yr).
650 is probably not too bad but i would shop around, look for subaru speciallists as well as dealers to see what prices you can get.
