Doesn't make much difference really SUL is 97RON & Optimax 98RON - I never normally mix my petrol though and try to put the same stuff in all the time (Optimax), but you can always get a bad tank full from anywhere.

Just don't put 95RON in if it's an import and hasn't been remapped for UK fuel and then go ragging it everywhere - never a great idea.

Yea - I'd ask someone in the know to give it a quick run over to make sure everything's running smoothly enough.

How many miles and whereabouts are you?

Red face

Type R on NUL
Optimax and octane booster only, try to get your hands on Nitrous Formula its great stuff and also consider a knocklink if you don't go for a re-map.

Jesus, if the previous owner told you this, it should have started warning bells ringing big time! This alone would be enough for me to not want to buy this car, at least without an insured inspection, as there's too much of a risk that detonation has already caused engine damage for which you'll have to foot the bill sometime down the road.

Unless this car has been remapped to run properly on UK fuel, you need to use Optimax/Super Unleaded plus octane booster - Optimax or SUL on its own is not enough!
