steering judder

when i am stopped E.G parking. if i have my foot on the brake and i turn the wheel to the opposite lock i get a judder if i take my foot off the brake it goes away all though i think it may have started to do it when the brake is not on.also my power assist pump does seam to make allot of noise do they make noise as standard

have done a search and cant find much
any info on this guys would be greatfull

Sounds like a slipping accessory belt, or possibly low PAS fluid level. Check them. Accessory belt tension is adjusted by tensioner on alternator mount.

have checked the fluid seams ok belt seams not to loose either

anythig else it could be??

i had all the heat shields removed even the one at the front that goes around the manifold you dont think somthing is getting to hot do you??

Can be difficult to judge the belt tension accurately just by feel.

Get someone else to sit in the car to press the brake and turn the wheel while you are looking at the rotating PAS pump wheel. If the belt is slipping, you'll see it as well as hear it.

It's unlikely to be the removal of the heat shields causing a problem like this.

ok will take a look

when i say the pump makes a noise its not a fan belt slip noise its more of a constant wyne. it has not got any louder

i had an altinator go on an FTO and that sounded similar

could it be the brakes
