Question

When using revs to start off up a slope (whilst holding on the handbrake) I am getting a clutchy smell

The clutch doesn't slip at all under normal driving through gear etc and gears select fine, but now wondering if its showing the first signs of failing and should be sorted as only had the car 4 weeks thru a dealer and under warranty

Thanks for any advice

Does it start to slip when acc. and making boost ?
Usually, a worn clutch can't hold the power when going on boost.
And have you a "heavy" clutch pedal ?
You can always try the old trick : start engine, selct 4th gear and while braking release the clutch pedal, it must stop immediately without hesitation. When it's "keeps running and finally stops" your clutch is probably gone...

Try an uphill part, and floor it from 50 mph in 5th gear, that will make the engine work like hell on full boost.
If that will go without a problem, your clutch is OK.
