My car (MY99) has been idling roughly for the last couple of weeks and dealer had it on select monitor and says both maf and 02 sensor is on the way out but he won't be able to replace them until a week Monday. However I am supposed to be going to a wedding in the lake district the weekend before (250 miles there and back). Dealer says it will be OK as long as I don't thrash it but I am not sure?

It's true, sort of, but you might not get very good fuel economy (for a change
) and really don't use boost - keep it under 7psi or so & it shouldn't cause problems (det, anyway).
I'm not sure at what point the ECU switches from closed loop to open loop, but with the lambda & MAF going, you'll be overfuelling on cruise & underfuelling on boost
so watch temps if you like cruising quickly...
