My Forge VTA dumpvalve sounds a little pants now, so I called into Forge and got a service kit. What do I do with it now ?

I have 4 springs, 3 of them are the same length(red, blue and yellow) and a green one that is slightly shorted. Which one is the best one to use on a MY 99 running 17.4 PSi target boost ? I have some washers as well with holes in the middle. Do I need to fit these ?

I have new 'O' rings, piston and grease, so will fit all this.

Is there a website for servicing the Dumpvalve ? Someone must have written something ?

As A guide Babber, the Red will be the stiffest spring.

any number of combinations of washers and springs are at your disposal.

Pretty sure they come with the blue spring as standard (but not gospel)

All you need to do now is stop it from leaking.

Easiest way to tell what spring is what, is by standing 2 of them up on the desk put something like a pencil across the top of them and the press on the pencil in the middle..
The weaker spring will go lower than the stiifer one...

Ok fair enough, but is the springs and spacers purely for changing the sound, or do I need to check anything else ?

What you need is a spring / washer combination that will be "just" enough to keep it fully shut at your maximum boost pressure!

get someone to lie under the bonnet

LOL sorry, in one of those moods today

could try taking it off the car, attatching some hose to it and then attaching an airline to that, wind up the pressure in the airline to your max boost pressure and voila

Now tell me you don't know anyone with an airline...

oops forgot about this.... what I wanted to add was..

You have to then take off the allowance (of pressure) that is holding it shut on the other side of the piston.. (i.e the small pipe from the inlet manifold.
Tis all rather complicated

I knew I had forgotten something

well did you get it working then or what?
