Question

could I not temporarily disconnect my lambda sensor and turn the car over to test whther it is this part that is at fault for my lumpy idle...?
Ive bought a new lambda sensor anyway but would like to check the old one before I bin it.
I have bought a brand new MAF today from subaru and after that I dont know what else to check.
Oh, ive tried changing the dump valve to eliminate the possibility of leakage.
its going on the select monitor on monday but would like to get to the root of the problem now if poss.

I have a similar problem, and although I don't have a lumpy idle, when I try to give it some after cruizing steadily, I lose all the power for a split second, which i was told was a result of a faulty lambda sensor.

I went to a dealer today, and they said they can do a diagnostic test, which takes about 30min,and costs £30 plus vat. I may just go for that to see what the problem is. Rather than messing about wasting hours on it, mere £30 will identify where your problem lies. Have a go. I think I will too.

proven in haslemere offered to run the diagnostic for free, so did a couple of other places.
dont pay for it, phone around for another dealer who will run it FOC.
