Dawes settings

Can anyone advice me what boost they are running with their Dawes boost controller, I what to turn it up slightly but don't what to blow up my motor. I have a MY98 with standard intercooler, K&N Cone, and a full stainless exhaust with large group N down pipe Wondering what the limit is with standard ECU (got a boost guage)would 16 psi be to high?.

Don't worry too much - if the ECU detects too much boost, it'll cut fuel. You preferably need to keep an eye out for det (eye? ear! ) but should be OK as long as you're running a quality fuel.
Fuel cut is a bit of a variable thing, and the accuracy of most boost guages frequently leaves quite a lot to be desired, but I think aiming to hit 15psi max (flooring it at 3,500rpm in 4th of 5th is likely to get the highest peak) should be safe and give ample additional power
Other may 'adjust' the boost you want - I can't remember what it should be but I'm pretty sure that 15 is about it for that MY...

they way i have researched it, is that if its not hitting a fuel cut then the ecu should be able to compensate for the extra boost
which should be safe
i have a jap car, to be sure i have increased my doseage of octane booster
which should be safe

You can't really ask us the answers to questions like this, as each car is different.
The answer is to fit a KnockLink and an AFR meter. That way you can turn the boost up, safe in the knowledge that your ECU is fuelling correctly and that your car isn't detting its way towards an expensive failure.

I am running a dawes on my 95 wrx and amd hitting 1.1 bar in 3rd, 4th and 5th. 5th gear gives me a problem atm as it is on the threshold of fuel cut so be careful. good stong acceleration from 3000 rpm, followed by "a shove in the back" at about 4200rpm. as above recommend a knocklink and an AFR without question
cheers
