If anyone can help with this it'd be great. I noticed an earthing / grounding cable hanging dowqn behind the intercooler but with one end not bolted to anywhere.

I tried to look at where it might have been connected but no luck. The connected end is behind the intercooler - if anyone co0uld have a look at theirs to see where the other end goes to it'd be appreciated.

If its the thin black wire that comes from the gearbox casing then it bolts to the bulkhead bracket where the top engine stabiliser strut is secured too..

Ok i've re-read the request.. So the cable is bolted to the bulkhead and the other end should be bolted to the top of the gearbox casing..

On the gearbox, 2nd casing bolt from the front passenger side top.

Cheers for that - had a look and can see a few bolts. Is it the one located behind a sensor on top of the gearbox housing as the gearbox slopes under the car towards the back?

It is just earthing the gearbox to the bodywork so doesn't matter which one you bolt it under imho.. I snapped mine as I forgot to disconnect it when I dropped the box out.. doh..

Sounds like the gearbox has been out the car at some point.. obviously..
