250bhp or so assuming that the rest of the car is standard and you run it on the right fuel, which is super unleaded/Optimax plus octane booster.

BTW, your shift key seems to be stuck.

Wink

A decat downpipe works wonders, I would also ditch the filter and go back to standard before it lunches your MAF.

Please dont confuse the older MAF's with the newer ones...
The guy is obviously new on here and doesnt need unneccesary scare mongering!!
The MAF failures on older cars are almost non existant, i appreciate that you have had a failure of your MAF but chances are that it is down to your neglect rather than the usual 99/00 failures. He has stated that he has a panel filter for starters, good choice..!! the only real MAF problems usually come with Induction kits and once again only really on the later cars.
Decat Downpipe is also a good bolt on, sometimes it is not always an option due to MOT probs but deffo worth investing in.

Have a think about a plug in remap, they are getting very good results with full decat, up to 300bhp and a good torque figure. Have a read of the recent threads.

Ray,

No, imports are:

240PS - MY92/93/94
260PS - MY96/97
280PS - MY98/99/00

IIRC. Also, I beleive ALL wagons are 240PS up to MY97.

MY93 WRX with full decat and panel filter was dyno'd at 253b / 239t - now scoobyecu remap from 11.7-16.5psi - anyone care to guess what the figures are likely to be now?

I would say the 94 WRX above would be similar to mine at around 250 as greasemonkey states

Thats not bad figures fo ra std Map with decat, if your car is deffo boosting at 17.5 (on a gauge) i would guess about 290bhp 260lbft maybe a bit more torque.

Tweenierob,
I wasn't scare mongering i was just offering an oppinion like you have offered yours , also i don't really see what you mean by "down to your neglect" , i wasn't saying that it would cause a maf failure but just letting him know the sort of money that some of these parts cost

Apologies if i have offended you, i just thought it was a bit unfair to post what you did seeing as the guy is new. The last thing i would have wanted to read after joining scooby ownership was that i had something on th car that must be changed!!
I would also ditch the filter and go back to standard before it lunches your MAF
.

To which you replied:

FIVEO is definately right , i've just replaced my MAF on my 94wrx wagon(import) and it cost me £220.00 so be careful
FIVEO is not definately right

Dont get worked up about it, just get your facts right next time.
