Can any one tell me how many cats a MY99 has?
I have recently fitted a Magnex 6x4 Oval rear box and Pipercross free flow filter to my car with excellent results in both performance and sound.I am toying with the idea of fitting a replacement highflow downpipe, which TDi say would involve removing one cat. After phoning Scoobysport and the dealer who both gave different answers 2 and 1 respectively i'm BAFFLED!!!
Has anyone removed one of their cats on a MY99 car and if so what differences did it make ?

The turbo car has 2 CATs. One just after the turbo and the other in the middle of the car.
The WRX / STi cars has only one CAT located at the middle of the car.

Removed both cats on 98my no problems, supersound and better performance at high revs.
Only have to watch out for the police. The penalty for driving without cats in Holland is VERY high.

The MY99 has two cats:
one after the turbo and one in the middle of the car. I've a MY98 with the first cat removed (down pipe) -> GOOD SOUND and more POWER at high revs !
