ERROR CODES
#1
hey gang
ive recieved error codes 45 and 31 from my ecu
31-throttle sensor =hunting idle
45-absolute pressure sensor (atmospheric pressure change over solenoid) =poor acceleration /bad idle
anyone ever change or repair either of these
am i right in saying that the pressure sensor is the sort of hexagon shaped chip with a tube running to the brown solenoid above the boost solenoid?
cos ive checked the brown thing and the front tube running out towards manifold has suction in it but the other tube running to the chip thing has no suction or blowing
is this right is this what i need to replace or repair?
anyone got any pics diagrams of what im talking about for clarity
cheers

The brown solenoid will need to be cleaned.
The best way I've found to do this is to:
Disconnect the 2 pipes from it, and pull off the black cylinder from the end.
Connect the green connectors under the drivers side dash (near the steering column.) This puts the car in "test mode"
Un-immobilise the car, and turn the key to ON. This will cause the fan to cycle, and the solenoids to click.
spray brake cleaner into all 3 open ends of the solenoid (and also do the same for the pipes if you take them off completely.)
The throttle position sensor is more tricky... The best bet is to read the diagnostics.pdf here...

The brown solenoid is probably still blocked... It sometimes takes a couple of goes to get the damn thing clean.
I've resorted to taking mine apart before now - I don't recomend this, as the little spring inside it tends to fire little pieces of solenoid all over the driveway!
