Question

I need to get a tow bar fitted to my MY99 Turbo, its not to tow caravans but a glider trailer.

Ideally I would like to fit a removable 'swan neck' type in an effort to not look to un-cool!

Anyone any ideas where I can get one and for how much.

Thanks

MY99 from Lancaster 7 Oaks (No's avail on Subaru Website [www.subaru.co.uk])

Standard (& removable with an adjustable spanner + 5/10 mins) £315(inc electrics)

Swan neck type & removable c.£450+ (only circa as didn't get it as unnecessary).

Mine also is not used for caravans but sole reason is anchoring M'bike!

Colin,

I got the basic dealer fit towbar, which was about 200 quid if i remember correctly. Not pretty, but bloody effective defense against the touch parkers in my street.

Jolly good for towing my caravan too.....

only joking, for towing my racing caterham.

Oli.

James,

Well to be frank, the tow-bar was fitted when the car arrived at the dealer (Ace Kensington) prior delivery to me when brand new. Therefore i managed to negotiate a prefered price for the tow-bar on the basis that the final cost of the car didn't exceed my monthly budget.

When I got my Impreza I got the posh swan neck removeable tow bar fitted.

( Not caravan, My 135Bhp Jetski !!)

In hind sight I should have saved my money and gone for the Witter and removed it in the winter with a spanner. I am too busy/lazy to remove the posh towbar when I am not using it, so it remains insitu all summer.
