Curious 'dents' on rear driver side door.

I have noticed that in certain lighting (most) you can see marks which look like carpark dings on the rear door. On closer inspection there are no 'actual' marks to be seen. Could this be the impact bars or padding pushing out and making it look like dents? Has anyone else noticed or had this 'effect'? My car is a four door DGM MY99.

I have noticed what I take to be slight paint thickenings on the bends/kinks on the edges, which originally led me to think my wife had been careless at Sainsburys. Only visible from certain angles/lights. Could that be it? Like yours, mine is DGM MY99.

James, this is possibly what it is. Its not on the edges though. Not sure what to do about it though. Will mention again to dealer. Ids, what did your dealer do? Did he respray the door?
