Just to let you know that if you hit fuel cut when configuring up your Dawes MBC on a MY03, you will illuminate the orange engine light on the dash (I assume this is the CEL and could apply to MY=>01).
I fitted the Dawes in the same way as with my previous MY00, even putting the screw in the pipe going to the "old" standard boost controller. I have no leeks and just touched fuel cut, around 1.2 ish on the boost guage and yellow light. I've now wound it back half a turn to about 1.0 - 1.1 bar.
My previous thread, ECU Reset - WRX MY03 shows that you can only electronically reset, however I restarted the car about 4 or 5 times and the light went out.
Question: Do we think an error code has been remembered/logged by the ECU?
-Steve.

Yes it will be logged by the ECU,i've seen a Dawes device on an 02 and it ran 1.2 bar with no problems, but the key is to take time in setting them up as even a small adjustedment makes a big difference.£ for bang they are good but they offer no saftey to your engine as it just boosts even on part throttle.
You should be able to get it to 1.2, fuel cut should be around 1.3-1.4 bar.

Thanks for the info. I've been carefully setting it up for the last week. Gradually up'ing it until I hit fuel cut.
I'm surprised I could expect to reach 1.3-1.4 bar. I have crappy old gauge, a TIMS one, but it surely can't be that inaccurate.
For reference I always run the car as standard for a week with the boost gauge to monitor the boost characteristics under a variety of conditions. I conclude that the standard car (about 2.5K miles on the clock - so still a little tight!) ran (on my gauge) around 0.8 bar. I'd kind of assumed the fuel cut would be around 1.25 bar (on my gauge) as that was similar to my MY00.
My gauge never seemed to go over 1.25 bar before I hit fuel cut.
What do we think fuel cut is on a standard WRX MY03 (without PPP or any other ECU mod)?

I don't suppose anyone in the Dorset (Poole/Bournemouth) or Hampshire (Southampton) area has a nice Delta Dash that might remove said error codes ;-)
Cheers,
-Steve.
P.S: Sounds like I might have to invest in this software in the longer term.

Thats for the info Zippy. Sounds like my gauge is around 0.1 bar out.
I'm set up for 1.0 bar now (or as close to that as you can be on an analogue gauge) so that's realy around 1.1 bar - that's just fine for me as I expect that's around 1.2 bar on a cold day!
RON - I know ... I must start to look in the meets forum - I've only had Scooby's for 4 years! Don't shoot me, but does anyone take their kids, my 2.5 year old loves "Scoooooby's" and to see loads in one place ... well.
