Question

I'm about ready for the 1st service anybody had any dealings with westaway northants or welch group cambs. the car came from welch group but it's a fair way to go just for the oil change.how much did you pay and can i stick valvoline 5w 50 fully synthethic in or should i stick to straight mineral until next change.

any comments greatly appreciated.

Fully synthetic is not recommended by Subaru, stick with semi-synthetic. Subaru dealers use Shell Helix semi-synthetic 10/40W around where I live (South UK).

Kevin, I'll make sure they stick semi in wherever it goes,i expect fully is too good a quality and probably glazes the bores at this early stage.

simon, i think i'll go back to welch group for the first service as it came from there. you said they don't mind you hanging around do you mean in the service area so you can keep your eye on them.

thanks

Paul

You can see cars thru large glass window in to workshop. Also, they have a good range of up to date car mags (usually autocar) for perusal.

MY = model year (MY00 latest with colour coding on mirrors and new wheel design)

ps, going in to day for brake disc change
