Hi Justin
I know your car is a couple of years older, but according to the manual on the MY00:
Fuse number 15 (rated at 20A) is for the windscreen (front and rear) washer and wipers.
Fuse is located on the internal fuse panel (bottom row, third from the left).
Cheers
Chris

Mine have stopped working!
Oh, and it hasn't run out of liquid
The little motor/pump isn't working and I've had a quick look and the connections seem fine.
Does anyone know if it runs off a fuse and if so, where is it located?
Is it a common problem?
cheers
Justin

Have you tried to flush the pump ??
I had the same on an opel, the pump would not work, turned out when the bottle ran out the washer mix I was using turned solid and this eventualy blocked the pump, a quick clean and it was up and running again.

Although my previous car was not a scooby, I had the same problem washers didn't work, but wipers did.
Checked all fuses, changed pump, and checked wiring. It turned out to be the actual windscreen wiper stalk.
Hope this is of help, (probably not!!)

WRONG! You got caught in the same trap as me!
To operate the windsceen washer there is a little button at the end of the stalk, press it in and the washer works!
There are two washers (other is the headlamps) of one bottle so you can test pumps by swapping the leads to each one!
Good luck
Alan

Thanks people
I thought that the stalk was OK, my reasoning being there is one switch for the windscreen wash (ie pull it towards you), when doing this the wipers work. I may be wrong - there may be 2 switches for the same command?
Oh well, I'll just have to visit the nice window washer lady in denim hot pants at the lights, till I find a cure
cheers

OK, For those idiots who can't work out how to use their windscreen washers there's this little button - see? at the end of the stalk.
Push it in, and the jets come on. If, however, you pull the stalk towards you the wipers come on only. Its simple!
If you want to spend half an evening under the bonnet of your car looking for problems that aren't there - contact me, I'll talk you through it

Dont worry I made the same mistake myself
I woke up one day and forgot.
I am glad I am not the only one it has happened to though. Did feel very stupid explaining how I fixed it to my wife!

Its even worse when you mention it to the mechanic when your car is being serviced...only to have all the lads come out of the garage sounding like the Tetley Teabags advert "Press the button..."
(never had a button on the end with any of my previous cars...honest)

Nearly dropped a similar bo11ock when I had the Sport. Fully intended to demand brakes be checked as the bloody car kept stopping when I was reversing with the clutch in if I even so much as touched the brakes.
Then I read about the hill holder clutch in the manual. Phew just in time!
Did you know you can open the windows by pressing the buttons in the door arm rests?
