![Question](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I have a bailey dump valve fitted to my Terzo. Since i got the car the noise from the dump valve has been consistant. IE the usual psssssht noise when i let off the power.
Last night it developed an extra noise, there is the usual psssssht sound followed immediately by a high pitched pssssht sound, almost like a squeel

The new sound doesnt worry me to much, but im a little worried about the cause of it. My first thoughts are something wrong with the turbo.... extra pressure being generated and releasing through the dump valve ????
All the readings on the defis are normal and its still pulling fine, the only difference i noticed was more pops and bangs from the exhuast (full de-cat).
Im hoping its just some part in the dump valve and nothing to do with the turbo.
your thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated
thanks
Chris

Dave,
Taken it to pieces tonight cleaned and re-greased it, hopefully this will cure the noise, at least it will put my mind at rest if it does.
while i think about it, if you blow down the bigger end of the valve, should air leak slowly out of it?. Like i said, im not technical so if this seems a stupid question, apologies
. It just appeared that the the rubber ring on the piston should be a bit better fitting than it is.
Thanks
Chris

Hello,
This is what i found:
Step 1# Take a working bailey d/v off a impreza.
Step 2# Leave on a shelf in garage for 3 months.
Step 3# Put on legacy and listen.
It's not the same sound as before:
Step 4# Run 25psi boost just to make sure![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Step 5# Remove and service the d/v.
Step 6# Re-fit and listen.
It's a totaly different sound now.
Step 7# Buy a new d/v, fit and listen.
It sounds correct:
Step 8# Beat the bailey to death with hammer
