Morning campers...
As above, my WRX import (reg
ec96 facelift) recently doesnt like to start from cold very much , and yesterday had lots 'o probs getting it going. No CEL.
Would anyone concur with a water temp sensor on its way out.
Starting from warm/hot no probs at all.
all response greatly received, even the funny ones.

If the engine has been hunting previously when cold, then I would agree that it is probably the temp sensor.
You should also have the rad fan(s) running constantly as the EEC can't detect whether the engine's hot or cold!!

The rad fan will only come on occasionally to start with, but as the temp sensor deteriorates further, they will operate more frequently when the engine is still cold.
The moment to fit the new sensor is when the fans come on with the ignition - starting the car in this state is nigh-on impossible!
