Did post a thread a few days ago about some grey 'sludge' in the pipe where I top up the water (cooling system). Any idea what it might be?

Bejeezus, I wish folk'd stop doing this, If I'd seen/had a comment on the other thread, I'd have replied on it, wouldn't I?

But it was posted after this one. I think someone was trying to be sarcastic. Still the new thread (Please ignore...) got a better response than his original thread posted several days ago.

See persistance and pleading do work.

Ja, the original thread didn't mention my username. This particular one is the second, and the "please ignore" thread is the third...

gm - I'm sure you get a fair few fao's - personally I'd be chuffed but I guess the more you get the more the novelty wears off.

...but the highest form of intellect. Well, that's what I keep telling myself, anyway

Apparently, a third of the UK use sarcasm as their favourite form of wit. Bit of useless info for you there...!

So, how much longer is this "technical" post going to stay in General Technical...?! I hope your other half a dozen attempts at this question have been more successful scooby96

Yep. It's not that I don't take it as a compliment, it's just that

a) I don't really agree with the concept of "FAO'ing" on a forum, unless it's a question that's absolutely specific to that user and nobody else would be able to answer. Scoobynet is full of knowledgeable, experienced people, many of whom have more experience with Scoobs than me. Thus singling one person (especially me!) out as a technical source is doing the rest a big disservice, and, perversely, probably reducing your chances of getting an answer to your question.

b) Someone once began an "FAO: gm" thread by saying that they had to post here because I don't publish my email address. Can you imagine what would happen if I did? Apart from soon reaching a situation where I wouldn't be able to turn Scoobynet off, I'd much rather people post problems here than take it to email. Everyone can potentially learn and benefit from what is said on SN, something that'd be lost if answers got mailed...

Make any sense?
