Is it best just to stay with the subaru standard plug leads or are there any aftermarket ones really worth getting ???? Has anybody heard of "bourge leads" ????

thanks

Impreza Turbos and derivatives all use coils for each plug and do not therefore have HT leads or a distributer (at least in the conventional sense). Therefore replacing the leads is going to be of no benefit unless there is something wrong with them.

This answer is incomplete to the point that it is incorrect. The early turbocharged Imprezas have coils on top of each plug, as do the new age cars. However, those in between have coilpacks mounted on the inlet manifold, with conventional HT leads running down to the heads.

BTW, Leeps, if you want to replace your HT leads, you could do a lot worse than Magnecor KV85 from somewhere like here.
