Hi,

This is my first time posting to this site so apologies if this the incorrect forum.

I have a 97 Catalunya (I wanted an STi but the girlfriend had other ideas!) with no modifications and would like advice on getting a high level spoiler on it.

How easy is it to fit one and do they have brake lights or do I need to dump the cabling on the existing one and go without?

Also has anyone ever bothered modifying a 'cat' before or does it effect the sell on value?

Thanks in advance,
Jon

Hmm, 97 Cat, I used to have one of those

The high level spoilers have a brake light that uses the existing wiring, and exisiting fittings if you get hold of an Official one or one of the Scoobysport ones.

It depends to what degree you are going ot modify it, i had scoobysport exhaust/ramair and cibie driving lights. Then i turned it into an Austin Princess on a track day, that was the end of that

Thumbs up

Ian,

Ouch! Sorry to hear you mangled your cat, I guess mine just becomes an even more Ltd edition!

After looking at the prices from ScoobySport I think I'll wait until someone wants to sell one here. I'm sure I can justify the dosh for different alloys though. The standard ones are nasty! (and 15")

As for the scoobysport exhaust, that looks a better bet than the Blitz one I've been looking at. Thanks.

I too used to own a Cat, and it's still out there on the road

The mods I was thinking of doing to mine were (in no particular order):

17 inch Gold Superturismo wheels

Scoobysport Driving Lamps

High level spoiler (check the older ads in the Private section, I'm sure there have been quite a few for sale)

Uprated suspension

Uprated brakes

and finally - more power.

However, I got offered the chance of a Terzo (always liked blue cars), and took it with the 17 inch gold alloys

Since fitted the excellent driving lamps, but haven't done anything else through lack of funds.

Cool

Well this is getting to be a bit like the Cat reunion club! Well at least I'm not an ex-Cat owner.

Pictures of it can be seen at

I have so far added a Blitz air filer and Scorpion back box to my Cat (No. 30).

Next it will be decatted, 17" Alloys and a fu*k off spoiler.

Read this months, I think Redline (might be another one - forgotten), but it has Cat No. 1 featured and hes had a few mods.

Cool

We had one too, standard apart from 16" Super tourismos. Then I spent alot and turned it into a 22B .
I don't think you have to worry about affecting resale because frankly the car isn't a classic (yet) and so I can't see it commanding a premium for being in 'standard' form. Just don't superchip it!
Regards
Chuck
