Summers Comin......
#1
As summers on its way I thought I would start thinking about the Aircon, as last year my aircon was not very effective.
It does blow out cold air but it is just as cold if I put the cold blowers on...
Not much point really
Does the aircon need servicing or repressurizing??
Any ideas please
Just thinking ahead

I Know its a long way yet but it made you look to see what the hell i am going on about.
Thought that the aircon would have to be booked in and possibly cheaper if it is done now.
I can't wait for the summer and as it was sunny and dry this morning I got a bit excited........

Scootie5,
I experianced the same thing with the aircon blowing as cold as the std blowers set on cold. I have a MY97, I tried it again the other day this time leaving it on for at least 20min on level 3, it started getting fridge cold, so it was working. I think it was taking time because it has not been used for 8months or so.
try it and let me know

Hey guys,
It sounds like your system needs re-gasing,
Those that have AC fitted ought to run them in the winter to stop the rubbers fitted in them going hard and sticking to the input shaft of the compressor etc.
To do this start the car and leave to idle, at idle speed switch on the ac for a few minutes, this needs to be done fairly reguarley to avoid the seal problem mentioned earlier.
Do not do this (if you haven't run your AC for a while) whislt cruising along the motorway as you may damage the compressor.
Car systems need topping up about every three years.
Unsure of cost as i usually get one my engineers to do it........sorry.
