OK the car is going like stink on Saturday afternoon - nice cold weather , the car really 'feels' punchy as the turbo kicks in nicely. I stop for about an hour at a friends house then ever since I have noticed that the car isnt running as well. Symptoms are :
The Turbo doesnt feel as punchy - in fact back to being really progressive (like when it was new). The Boost doesnt hit quite as high on the gauge or as quick. For example 0.7 in 3rd whereas it normally goes to 1.0, thats the same in all gears.
I have also noticed a strange smell that is noticeable even in the car. It is like a burning exhaust smell and if I lift the bonnet up it is particularly wiffy coming from the top of the heat-shield/boost soleniod area.
HELP - WTF could be causing this and why all of a sudden???? Cheers
