Noise from engine
#1
Got a very hard to describe noise coming from back right of engine. Can only hear at idle and appears to rise until 2k revs then u cant hear it.
Took it to mechanic and it stopped and engine is running sweet. Took it out for a long run afterwards and noise came back. Its mettalic but not knocking.
Not expecting a diagnosis, but in general if engine is going would it not be a consistent sound getting worse ?
Engine rebuild may cost !

Mine did it to after removing the exhaust heat sheild I broke a weld on it to the rear of the sheild(looking from the underneath the car).Don't know if all the sheilds have a weld on to the rear nut but mine did sorted now, don't know if this will help, but it's an option

Cheers guys, I do find it odd that it only happens here and there, but its really annoying.
Going to book it in to get rocker cover gasket replaced see if they can track it down, most engine pops do seem a big bang !
