Please can people who have bought these (eg from Scoobyworld) comment on whether they really are worth having? My wipers are shot and these look tempting...

Yes they are good. One thing you must do is follow the instructions carefully when fitting. It has never taken me so long to fit a pair of windscreen wipers!

Their effect is similar to using Rain X. I've continued to use the Rain X screen wash additive as this seems to work well with the blades.

Worth a try IMHO.

I second what Chris said.

Although not cheap seeing a bill of £50+ for 3 wiper blades they are amazing. They clear the rain leaving no streaks and are long lasting

Been using a different (much much cheaper) silicone blade on both our cars for 3 yrs now - brilliant they are. Eventually they leave a silicone film on the window and the rain runs over the windsceen without using the wipers at all. No streaks and good at cleaning dirt of the sceen.

I've had these fitted for the last few months and to be honest I don't think they are worth the money.
They do the job, but no better than a normal blade would do if used with rain X.
I also found that if you clean the screen with anything other than water (ie shampoo when washing car etc) the screen gets a grey misty appearence to it until then chemicals from the shampoo are worn away.
When I'm ready to replace them I'll be going down the non silicon tripple bladed route, with a tub of Rain X for the sides and rear.

Thumbs down

I got some of these blades last year as part of a group buy.

They're not worth the extra in my opinion.

My main complaint is that when it's raining and the wipers are swishing away, they leave a smear when they return to the bottom of the screen. It disappears within about a second, but for £40 wipers it's poor.

This didn't happen with the factory wipers.

cheers

Cool

I'd recommend these, they are the only wiper blades that I've ever been happy with and after a short while the screen gets coated with silicon and you can drive down the motorway at 70-80mph in heavy rain without your wipers on and have near perfect visability.
I used to use normal blades with rainX but had all sorts of visibility issues with light spray and using the wipers causing major smearing. These give a slight smear but easy to see through.
