spec of JDM MY01/02?
#1
Hi.
Im looking into getting an my01, but as I currently have a jap spec 93wrx, I dont want to go for anything less powerful.
Is the JDM my01 more powerfulthan the UK, also, on the older JDM's you get alloy wishbones, close ratio box, etc...
Does this still apply to the new ones?
What are the main differtences?
Thanks for any help, Rob.

Your WRX is probasbly 220 (could be 240) bhp, JDM 01 WRX is 250 iirc, far more tuneable though so easliy good for 300 with the right mods (exhaust/induction/remap). An early WRX has almost no chance of that without major expense.

Rob get a UK spec MY01 and de-cat it and straight away you are looking at 250BHP and then with an Ecutek custom map you are looking at 280-290BHP,with bigger wheels and better brakes than JDM cars.
You also get alloy wishbones as standard on all UK spec MY01 onwards cars.
Unless you are going for a JDM STi i wouldnt bother with the WRX version, stick with a UK spec car.
