do i have to reset the ecu as now i have fitted a ninja exhaust.

Depending on your MY, you may gain performance by resetting it, as it will allow your ECU to relearn its advance maps, now that the exhaust gases are flowing better. Also, if you haven't reset it for a while, it may well be worthwhile as it may uncover a failing MAF.

Sorry for jumping in but how would I reset my ecu on a 94WRX??
Case of disconnecting the Battery for 30mins??
