Question S.E.C.S Monitor, BP Query

Hi...

I'm sure someone will know the answer to this :-

I just installed a S.E.C.S. monitor yesterday. Can anyone tell me why the boost pressure appears in minus figures at idle, and low acceleration ?

For example... at idle it will read

BP -0.81 BAR and this increases upto 0.00 and obviously beyond with acceleration.

I'd just like to know, if anyone knows, why it's minus rather than starting at 0 ?

Thanks
Darren

Its because at idle, and when car is not boosting it runs as Vacuum, thus giving a minus reading as opposed to positive (Boost) pressure

remember engines suck air in, until you force a load into it that is.
