Heelp: Crazy hunting cold idle - is it the MAF?
or something else, and is it bad for the car?
It was jumping all over the place last night when I started it and sat in it for a bit, all the way from nearly stalled to 1500 rpm...
Any advice welcomed!

I am no mechanic but it sounds like maf failure symptoms if it is then it needs sorting straight away. Get a diagnostic check done soon as had my maf done at weekend £73 plus the diagnostic.
