I may be corrected, but i think that you'll find that people have 'doctored' the standard knock link, extended the LEDs and mounted these in the console. That's cerainly what I plan to do.

I would like to do the same, but I thought it would be too much for an idle old fart like me
If anyone 's done this, how did you do it? Was it a pain?
Zhastaph good luck, let us know how you get on

I don't expect it to be a problem, as long as your good with a soldering iron.
1. Take the link apart
2. Desolder all the LEDs making a note of not only where they came from, but which way round they came out, as LEDs have to be wired in the correct way to work.
3. Make up some little extension wires coming off each of the LEDs taking care to sheild each leg with heat shrink or something else as appropriate.
4. Solder the other ends of the wires back into the holes on the Knock link as the LEDs came out.
Then mount these LEDs in the dash or wherever. Personally I'm probably gonna put mine into the facia of the SECS monitor. I think you can also get little plugs that you can mount the LEDs into, from RS etc.
Other's have definately done things along these lines and created threads about it, but without the search it's gonna be difficult to find. Hopefully some who has done this will see this thread and add to it.

I measured each Led and are all the same type even the big one so why should they be the same way, I 'll fit my KL next few days but I am not sure if the Leds are in pillar as on the box may be I've lost their order!

Cheers lads.
As I now know its a Knock link that most people supply, just modded to fit in the speedo housing. The Led's, circuit board and cable that then leed into a electrode connector block were there already, when I bought the car. I have looked for the rest and the sensor but they are not on the car anymore.
What do I need to get to complete and get it working again?

If I read what you've written correctly, then you've got the knock link itself. I've not taken one apart yet, but I'm expecting it to consist of an IC, the LEDs and an adjustable POT and probably not a lot else. So if you've got at least this then you've got the knock link.
To make this fully functional, you'll need to get knock sensor that bolts directly onto the engine, the knock link will then have 2 wires that connect directly into this.
The knock sensor can be purchased from loads of places, but I got mine from B R Developments priced at £65.
