the car is starting to idle funny now, anywhere from 1000-0 rpm and if you are parked and rev the engine it cuts out when the revs drop back down, also when driving along if your not going fast and go to change gear the revs drop down and the car stalls, its a tek3 uk turbo car the car has been parked up for a month and the battery has been totally dead for over 2 weeks so a new battery has been put on and since im starting to drive it again more faults are appearing![Frown](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)

Steve - what you've described is exactly what was happening to my MY01 about 8 months ago. The problem was traced to a faulty exhaust gas temperature gauge. Have you got a Check Engine Light warning on your dashboard?
Mine was replaced under warranty. I would check this with your dealer ASAP.

check light has come on for a little bit then of, its the psi machine that gave me the code, funny thing is ive had all the exhaust parts off the car within the last 100miles so that sensor thingy seems very likely. much was the repair at the dealers so i can prepare myself

Steve - sorry didn't read the title properly! The CEL came on in my car. At first the dealer reset it as he thought it was giving a false or incorrect reading. Eventually it came on again and the car was barely drivable. This is why I said you should get it looked at. When the EGT sensor eventually failed, any pressure on the accelerator and the car would cough and splutter and then stall. I managed to get within about 300m of my house when it stopped. I left the car for about 15 mins to allow it to cool down and then I was able to (just) get home. I ended up coasting onto the drive with the engine dead!
There have been reported EGT failures on a number of new shape Scoobs - both on standard and de-cat / semi de-cat cars.
