Question What is a Terry Cloth??

this is my technical question:

got a tub of Meguiar's Metal Restorer to clean my stainless steel exhaust and it says to use a "terry cloth towel"...what's one of these?

is it the one where is frays at the edges, white in colour and doesn't absorb much water? (got loads of little holes in it?)

...dumb question of the year or what??

Think it is what nappies used to be made from..

Which you can still get but the disposables are so much more convient.. lol

The cloth you descript sounds similar.. except for the hole.. lol makes a mess you see..

Like a towel is what they are talking about I think.. I am sure the cloth you are talking abvout would work fine anyway..

JGM lol

Just a regular bath towel, or smaller version of the same. Meguiars sell 'em on their website.
Worth having as most people recommend these for waxing the car, too. Some even prefer them for drying the car, though I haven't tried it.

Although I think Dawn French is more interested in the chocolate than the cloth...

you can buy them in halfrauds

When polishing off keep folding / turning it over so it dont get clogged.

If you wash them dont use fabric conditioner on them.

Thumbs up

Shouldn't think Halfrauds will help Simon much...........he lives in Japan you see! Hi Simon,a face cloth (Like a tiny wee bath towel) would be ideal I think!

I had exactly the same when I bought some wheel wax...I thought WTF is a terry Cloth?....

And I passed the tub around the office and everyone didn't have a clue...bloody Americanisms Can't they speak english?

In the end I just used a normal polishing cloth

i had terry nappies when i was a baby, you can't beat a line of brilliant white nappies on the washing line to show off the ability of ur washing machine! yes they are just small bath towels. my girl friend won't touch them for our new baby, too much like hard work she says!

If you can find them, try "JML 3D Ultra Fibre Cloths", but they're seriously hard to come by for some strange reason...
