Default Dear God Help me!!! Sti5 TMIC into classic

OK, got my nice new shiney sti TMIC, modded it to fit (lopped off the D/V arm and shortened the throttle body connector) the problem I now have is where to locate the D/V, I don't have the alloy Y-piece so I can't weld an arm onto that, is there anyway to "weld" a piece of ABS plastic into the existing ABS y piece?

if not does anyone have any ideas where to

A) get an alloy y piece from

B) get a hose manufacturer to fabricate said hose (I'd imagine that will cost a fortune )

~thanks in advance

It's rather difficult for us to answer your question without knowing what model year of "classic" you are referring to Will. Care to throw us a bone?

If you've got an STi5/6 intercooler and are trying to put it on a pre-MY99 Impreza, the easiest option would probably be to get hold of an MY99-MY00 dumpvalve and just bolt it straight onto the IC. No need to mess about with welding or anything else then.

The plastic Y-pipe is made of polypropylene, not ABS, and I doubt that "welding" an additional takeoff into it would be a practical proposition.

Edited to say you "lopped off the DV arm"? Eh? What exactly did you cut off? There shouldn't be an "arm" for the dumpvalve on an STI5/6 TMIC. Are you sure you didn't get an STI3/4 one?

hehe sorry

its a MY95 so I'm upgrading from the slanty affair, the standard dumpvalve doesnt fit it fouls on what I'd imagine is the idle speed controller on the right hand side? a friend of mine has done this conversion but he has the alloy y piece, he simply branched the dumpvalve off from that.

thanks for your help

so what I'd ideally like is a combination of the following two hoses

and this dump valve branching variant

Am I making any sense

What about fitting a dump valve T-Piece like this: http://www.paceproducts.co.uk/automotive-parts.shtml
into the samco Y-Piece, just after the 90deg bend?

Have you got the alloy y peice for under the intercooler if so,all I did was weld a inch pipe on to it and bring it up the passenger side of the intercooler (piston dump valve)
