KC is zero unless under heavy load and then reads between 0 and 8.
AFR normally reads about 1.0...dropping to 0.8 under load and 1.6 on throttle lift off.
ID varys between 3ms and somehwere near 12ms i think.

the car hasn't gone bang and he probably is right (he has been about everything else)
he did mention to change the sensitivity - I think i ve got a touch of the scoobynet Syndrome, I fix computers and theres nothing worse than when someone who thinks they know a thing or two tries to tell you how to do something you do evey day and im sure its the same for him.
I think i might bite the bullet and get a second opinion / remap just for my own peice of mind, Once i get one of the top guys to look, my mind will be at rest - and the money I have saved using this mappers garage will pay for the remap

Hmm, it should always be at max sensitivity and any activity should never be ignored. You've got the PSI saying its retarding ignition and the KL display lighting up? What does your head tell you?
I would ring someone like Bob R and see what he says, I think I know the answer though.

Just to add, repeated amber lights wont make it go bang instantly, but it will after a while, as you will be experiencing some form of mild - not good pre detonation.
You need det cans on there really, but the KL rarely lies if used as a guide.

Bob Rawle mapped my car... Which I think says it all
The SECS is a nice bit of kit but I'm still confused by what goes on when it looks at the ECU while driving... The AFR should always hunt around 1.00 which is stoichimetric AFR giving good emissions...great when driving normally off boost..and very economical. The Lambda sensor looks at the exhaust gasses and the ECU messes about to get the fuel just right.. "Closed loop"
When overtaking a lorry on the A69 in a bit of a hurry (like today) it needs to wake up a bit and switches to "open loop" where it looks at a "MAP" of fuel, ignition, boost to get the best out of the situation and the Scooby takes off like a rocket in safety.....here is where I say thanks Bob Rawle for all that power at the right time without the engine going BANG
Back to the SECS....
AFR should be about 1.00 when driving normally, It's difficult to look at the SECS AFR during spirited driving but have seen 0.7 (rich).
The Knock Correction I also find difficult to decipher as it is not the correction the ECU is seeing due to activity of the OEM Knock sensor. When Bob mapped the car with Det cans there was no knock activity !! John Banks posted a neat reply but I can't search at the moment.
Injector duration...... Hmmm... Tricky one as injectors can spray the fuel AFAIK onto a closed valve so injector "duty" can be over %100......
Not much help.....sorry
Midlife.....

for any one who has followed my problems with my ecu tek - problems are now real
took the car to a well respected mapper, took the car for a run and yes it is detting, nothing major and using booster would probably sort it out BUT what do you do, he said it is, the knocklink says it is but my mapper said it will be fine after (4/5 trips back)
well hands going in the pocket and getting it done again I ve got the liscenc so it won't cost me the full wack)
so my advice to every one is a TEK 3 is only as good as the person who maps it

The KC figure shows both Advance (just normal numbers) and Retart (i think it puts a minus before it allthough dont quote me on it)
So if you have anything under boost like 8 or 10 or 12 then its advancing the ignition, I know my Sti8 PPP feels a lot faster when its showing 10 or even 12 on the KC figure when under load... I seem to remember Mike Wood saying that it should show anything up to 12 on a Sti8 PPP in another thread somewhere! the higher the number the happier the ECU is and gives you more advance and more boost!
Obviously after remap ya gotta be sure what the car is doing. and knocklinks are essential! just have to get mine before I go tek 3 route.

Rich, that really is crap and I personally think you should name and shame the person who advised you. There's a lot of this going on at the mo it seems.
Ok, in this case it was mild det, but would they still have ignored it if it was showing amber or worse? If you hadn't posted on here, it would seem reasonable to expect that eventaully it would have gone bang....

mild det, and when Bob checked the car with cans said he thought it should have been showing as red, sure as sure when we got back and checked the knocklink the red LED was not working, so one batch of dodgy sul and a hotday, I could have been really f**ked
trust me, i have learned from my exersise and if i see any one else in the same position i will tell them the story, I am not one to shout off on a public forum about a firm and how bad they are BUT scoobyL if your car has had a ecu tek I sure hope you have a knocklink
