DID NOT WANT TO GO???????
Hi
I have a MY00 PPP which normally runs about 16psi boost.
Today I put my foot down to overtake expecting it to go.
It got to 8 psi and just would'nt go.
I eased off, and then put my foot down and this time it made full boost but started to drop off rapidly.
I tried a couple of times more and both times it made boost but kept dropping boost off as it went through the revs.
Anyone have any ideas???????????????????
please help

When you were waiting to overtake were you hoding in a low gear for very long?
There's some ECU feature (for emissions - as far as I can fathom) that cuts the boost if you hold the engine at highish revs and light throttle for longer than 15 or so seconds. Boost is about half of what you usually get when you floor it.
Way round it is to stay in a high gear and drop into 2nd or whatever gear you need just when you about to overtake. Irritating - I know

Hi
Cheers Ali
I think that could be the problem, I came off a round about in 2nd and had to wait a few seconds for a gap.
I hope this is the problem.
Its been no trouble at all tonight.
Cheers

If your symptoms are only in 2nd gear, then yes, that's an unfortunate feature of the stock boost control of the AE802 ECU. Your only way round it is to fit a manual boost controller, like a Dawes, which bypasses the wastegate solenoid...

Hi
thanks
for all the advice.
I am pretty sure after a couple of days driving that it is the cut from the ECU.
I am fitting a GBE device and this will hopefully stop it happening again.
Cheers

This recent post may be of interest to you, seeing as you're using the GBE...
Edited to say, JGM I think he's referring to the AE802 hesitation problem...
