Default Black pipe near ECU

Ive just had a look at my ECU on my93 WRX and was amazed at the amount of bodged wires held together by tape!!!

But i guess thats what you get from buying an import with know history

Anyway i also noticed a black small tube that was hanging there which with the engine started had a suction.

Could anyone enlighten me to what this might be?

Im hoping it might be for a boost gauge and will save me some plumming!!

Still not happy about the wiring Though

trace it back through the bulkhead, if it is an old boost gauge pipe you will be losing boost pressure, I'd imagine its just a breather pipe, why its in the footwell god only knows

aircon outflow pipe, should stick through the passenger footwell to allow condensation to drip out on the floor?

Sounds as though someone had a boost gauge fitted but removed it and left the pipework open. If it is feasable it may be a good idea to post up a piccie of the ECU and surrounding wiring loom as the 'taped' wiring may indcate that an AFR or FCD has also been fitted/removed.

Cheers

Funny you should say that!!!

Got it booked into BR Developments to have it mapped soon.

They were actually suprised how new it was when i gave them the number of the chip.

They're baffled as to where it came from though

but thanks a lot for that jlanng, i will let you know the outcome when its mapped
