Question Which make of performance panel filter MAF friendly?

Currently have an ITG panel filter but not sure how MAF friendly it is?

Is it wise to replace it with another if so which and where from?

Any panel filter that is oiled apparently kills MAFS (similar to the way induction kits do).

Not really correct Phil. It's certainly correct to say that any filter that sheds filter oil/mucus can accelerate MAF sensor failure.

The K&N and Green filters are lightly oiled but don't tend to release that oil into the induction tract, hence pose an extremely low contamination risk. The problem with the ITG product is that it easily seems to shed its "mucus", and that mucus tends to coat and contaminate the MAF sensor.

There are a couple of different issues with induction kits, in addition to the contamination one. The first is that the additional vibration that can result if the kit isn't properly isolated can accelerate MAF sensor failure.
The second is that the fitting of the kit can change the way air travels down the MAF tube. This doesn't actually damage the airflow sensor, but can make it misread the amount of air travelling through it, resulting in a fuel mixture that's too weak, and consequent problems for your engine.

I think it was an ITG panel filter that killed my MAF.

Has anyone actually verified that the factory filter is a restriction? It's hard to believe that going to another panel filter with the same dimensions will have a large impact. Doesn't seem the risk of accelerated MAF failure, no?

I ran an ITG oiled panel filter in my MY00 and not one spot of oil got on the maf or into the pipe it sits in.

The bottom of the airbox was a different matter though
